Confusing Info.

Featured Replies

3 weeks into ownership & still learning something new every day ! The manual states the "Locking Wheelnut Code" is etched onto the nut release key OR, if not, on the actual wheel bolt itself. This code is required if the said release key is lost. I felt I needed to note down this number.

Having checked today (removing the wheel bolt too), no code number found - phoned the dealer who assures me that "because it's a generic manual", not all aspects apply here, and that their system would be able to source me a replacement if necessary , and anyway, "we have a master key to remove the wheels".

If mine was lost, I would hope the RAC have one too if I was stranded in the middle of nowhere !

I also asked about the Radio Code - " Yes, there is one, but we keep that on the system ".

With all my previous cars I have had such code info was issued on cards & kept with the manual - strange (& confusing) that Skoda choose not to, and I hope neither omission causes problems during ownership.

PS Still reckon the Octy 3 Elegance 1.6 Tdi DSG is the best car I've ever owned !

The wheel nut code could be inside the nut and don't worry about the radio code as it's matched to your ECU.

Yep, no radio code required. It knows what car it's meant to be in. Confused the heck out of me when I fitted a carkit to the other halves pug 207 as it's the same.
