"Insp" popped up after just 8500 miles...?!?!?

Featured Replies

The word "Insp" has just popped up on my dash after just 8500 miles.

What's the normal service intervals for the 75 Greentec Elegance - surely it's more than 8500 miles (I've owned the car for about 8 months so it's not the '12 month' thing...

Oil level is fine...

Was it a pre reg or demo?

Or was it brand new?

Think its 10k miles or 12 months for the service

Bought car brand new.

I'm doing high milage, but not high speed!

Mileage is getting close if you have fixed service intervals. Is it 10000 miles? In here it's 15000km.

Yes 10000 miles here

Yes it's 10K or 12 months. You've got an early warning by the looks of it. My Octy used to warn me a 1000 miles before.

Not quite 10k - dash indicator apparently kicks when approaching 9400 miles, I believe (or x days) - perhaps with your mileage it thinks you'll hit the marker (9400,10k, whichever) within a couple of weeks?

Is it not 9375 miles rather than 10,000? i.e. 15000km but converted to miles?

I'm sure my Octavia II which was on fixed servicing used to countdown from 9375 miles?? This might explain why the OP is seeing the reminder now as he is within 1000 miles of needing a service?

If the service interval code is QI7 for the Citigo then it is 10,000 miles. Al the other codes are based on km, eg my Fabia vRS counts down to 9320 miles (15,000 km) and my Octavia II on variable servicing counts down to 18,640 miles maximum (in both cases assuming that the 1 or 2 year time limits do not occur first).

Yes our Yeti is on 10,000 mile / yearly servicing, and does exactly the same.

It's a useful reminder ,as it gives 2/3 weeks to book it in for a service, by which time it's up to around the 10,000 mile mark.

Ahhh...I see!

Makes sense :)

According to the Citigo brochure the car is on 'Fixed' servicing=12 months or 10k miles which ever comes first.Auto Express put 9100 miles on their Citigo and had not had it serviced. There is a service sticker in the front of my car which says 12 months or 10k miles for its first service.

My service indicator popped up around 3 weeks prior to the 12 month being up, I'm only on 7k miles.

Yours seems to be a bit previous.

Would appear then 12 months/10kmiles is the correct service schedule, perhaps some earlier cars had been set up differently?.

Hi all

Thanks for replies & clarification.

I checked back and (here's the funny thing) I've only owned the car for 4.5 months, not 8! so I guess my high mileage over this time plus approaching the 9400m mark has triggered the service indicator.  Shame, my last car went for 18,000 before needing a service, but I guess the little engine in the Citigo needs more tlc...

I was reflecting on how comfy the Citigo is for long trips - and yesterday I managed 68.3mpg without trying, great car, great car...
