egr delete help :)

Featured Replies

Just fitted the dark side egr delete pipe to my fabia vrs and it may be a silly question but its my first one and ive only had it a month but what did people do with the vacume pipes ? Ive ither got a nipple to screw in or a blank to screw in ? If the nipple was used with pipe was attached or were both ?

Thanks

Matt

Mine are both left open. I did have them double backed and cable ties but i started to get alot of white smoke and read it could be related. Either way i know people with them blanked off and exposed all with no issues.

Mines just goes to atmosphere.

Blocked my EGR one as I read that there's more available vacuum to the VNT actuator. Don't think it makes much difference either way though.

you should block them really, as 1 it is loosing vacuum for the vnt and 2 it is allowing dusty/dirty air to be pulled into the vac system and pump which could cause all sorts of problems. at worst case just use an old m6 bolt or something in the pipes, I usually remove the egr pipe from the block and fit a brake bleed nipple on the stub.

Ok thankyou :) think ill do that tomorrow :) also I jabe a horriable squeeling noise when the turbo comes in but disapears agaon at aboit 3.5k/4k rpm .... any ideas ? I thought it was the egr blocked hence why I fitted the delete but iys got worse :( I also thought it might be a boost leak but would of thought it would of made thw noise all the time on boost ....

It most likely is a boost leak, by 4k your turbo will have peaked out hence it stops doing it. . .
