standard vs double din?

  • 2 weeks later...

installing a radio in a mk1 fabia is somewhat easy, you will need the following;

Fascia to hide the gap between the radio and the row of buttons on the dash (rear window de-mist button etc)

**Antenna adapter** - depending on the after market radio you may need a adapter

multi meter to test the power connector because the car iso connector is wired different to what after market radios are wired to.

        ----for example, the wire that supplies a constant 12v from the car will got the the wire that is for the switched accessory on the radio and vice versa. so on the iso lead that is supplied with the radio the yellow and the red wired have to be crossed in order for the radio to save its settings. (usually its yelow and red)

i will post some pictures soon to show what i mean
