New vRS on the way

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ordered my new vRS last week as a company car, first Skoda for me but friends rave about them.

I've gone for the 2.0 TDi manual in race blue with the columbus sat nav upgrade.

Jeff :-)

Good luck my friend, from what is being posted here you might be waiting until April-ish until delivery.

But it'll be worth it, I'm sure

That'll upset the MD if that's the case as he'll have to pay me the car allowance until then ;-)

I've had an email today saying week before Christmas.

I was told this too, now looking at mid February.

Yeh sorry mate to urinate on your fire. I ordered 20th September and was given an estimated ( December )time from dealer, contacted Skoda UK and all vRS orders will be delayed due to supply issues with lane assist. 14 week lead time plus 6-8 weeks for lane assist problems.

The leasing team have been pretty insistent that it will be prior to xmas. Wondering if this is just a ploy to get more people to lease from them and some poor sod is losing out in the meantime :(

Will be interesting to see, hope they are right. I've come round to the fact I'm in for a long wait.

As you can probably see on this forum Skoda UK are all over the place at the moment, some peoples cars turn up at the dealers out of the blue.

I can cope with the wait in principle as i'm giving my current car to the mrs so we can get rid of her shed on wheels ;-)

The constant changing of goal posts certainly seems to make it all that sweeter when people finally get their motors anyhow.

Lease companies have massive buying power and will effectively steal cars off stock lists to supply a car. Skoda and the supplying dealer will support this to maintain market volume at the expense of the private buyer.

It's a sad fact the little man loses out but its much easier for skoda and the dealer to pay a little bit of compensation to a individual than lots to a lease company and find their cars missing of the buying list....!

I get the impression though that very little in the way of compensation gets paid... that said with only the sat nav upgrade, the race blue is a common dealer configuration. My local dealer told me they didn't have a demo in of the hatchback as it got nabbed by the leasing team for a customer before it arrived.

I ordered on 12th August (Business Lease through Skoda Dealer).  I'm pretty sure I am NOT getting any preferential treatment.  My build has gone back from 42 to week 47 and even then Skoda cannot guarantee that, until it is confirmed (apparently the week before production).  Us Brits are usually pretty good at queuing up in line and waiting ,why should we be able to jump the queue!!!!   Id be pretty miffed if I found out someone who ordered their car later than me, was assigned bits that were due for my car because they were a more important customer.  My lease is a 2 year lease and i definitely am not going through this carry on again, unless Skoda buck their ideas up.  Surely Skoda can predict when the parts are coming into stock and keep their customers updated.  When you order a dominos pizza online, you can track it and see what stage it is at in the production line.  Why cant I do this with my car order?  I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult at the factory to put this system in place?  People are much happier waiting if they can see things progressing and the manufacturer is keeping them up to date and not in the dark....

Actually,.... Pizza.... Im hungry...

Now that's a plan!

As for the lease 'promises' i've check the paperwork. When I ordered it I was given a promise date that if they do not achieve within 14 days leeway I get 'compensated'. Whatever that means is beyond me but they must be pretty confident. It wasn't direct through SUK leasing, but SUK are providing me with all the updates...

Turned up with completely the wrong spec. Turns out it was intended for another customer and they lost my order. New date.... end of April. Needless to say I thought it was too good to be true.

Hurrah! Finally a grovelling letter from the lease company. They've sent me another car to use until mine arrives. (3 Series M Sport which I can't say I like all that much other than it don't half shift ;-) )

B/W 9 now, getting somewhere.
