Octavia vrs Moisture in rear lights

Featured Replies

I have owned by octavia for two weeks Loving the car in every way But today I noticed Moisture in both of the rear lamps But only the white bits in the middle Is this common ? Do i need to buy new lights? It's a

2010 Hatchback cr vrs.

Mine sometimes got a very light film of condensation on the inside of the centre section during prolonged periods of very wet or humid conditions.

Moisture to the point it forms in droplets of water is something else.

There is a foam pad on the back of the clusters, this pad forms the watertight seal between cluster and bodywork. If its damaged or not sat tight then water can enter the lights and car.

Its also worth noting that the MkII is renowned for water ingress in various forms in and around the boot.

Is the boot damp?

Is there water in the spare wheel well?

Is the rubber boot seal full of water near the boot catch?

Does the rear washer jet work OK?

Thank you for your quick reply I've checked out and spare will well and is dry And so is the boot seal

I will check the seals round the Lights tomorrow But as you have said it has been very wet and windy Warm then cold last few days

It is only a light conversation and not Dripping

I think that is normal then. Mine too did this occasionally.

My advice would be not to remove the cluster (to check the seal) unless you really have to as this might cause more issues.
