Broken my VRS!

Featured Replies

I'm having a bad day!

A van drove into the back of me. Looks like it will be a write off as the rear wings have moved out a bit.

If anyone has a decent VRS for sale let me know (I'm in Worcester).

Oops, any pics?  (As someone usually asks)

Unlucky mate,

Gutted for you, but at least YOU didnt break it :)

im also located in Worcester and will keep my eyes and ears open. im gutted for ya. I know if it was mine I would be right un happy

That's really bad luck. I suggest that you use the Items Wanted forum to advertise for a replacement.

I'm going to see if I can get it repaired in a friends garage if the insurance company is ok with that or maybe buy it back off them.

Needs a new bumper, crash bar, tailgate and a bit of a pull on a jig to get gaps around the tailgate straight. It's dark so pics wouldnt realy show much.

That is **** mate, what did the insurance say about it?

They havent seen it yet. I expect they will write it off, if they dont like his quote I might buy it back and still get it done. Otherwise it is in realy good nick and I've spent a few quid on it.

Can u buy it back if your insurance company writes it off??

usually yes, depends on the rating tho from the insurance company

Usually they sell it back for scrap value what I would do is get a settlement your happy with a payment in lew of repair try keep it from the cat register. I'd keep the cash break this one and buy a better straight one

you can buy back, and as said they do keep an amount back for the scrap value, but it will go on the cat register.

No biggie in itself, if you know it can be repaired easily/cheaply.

I'm not too fussed about it being on the cat regester. It's an old car anyway so wont make much differance to it's value.

Sorry to hear about the damage :( If you do buy it back and repair it, take some good before, during and after photos so that any prospective future owners can see that it was just light-medium rear damage, rather than the twice-rolled TWOC-ed example that people immediately assume a car on the register will be.

The car is being written off. Looks like by the time I've messed about it's not worth me buying it back. Anyone got one for sale!!??
