Car stop while driving, lights on dashboard turns on

Featured Replies

Hello,

i have strange problem with my Skoda Fabia SDI 1.9 2001,

after 20 min of driving i see ABS light on after it is Air Bag light, then steering wheel then hand brake, and then car stops. I cant start it anymore. When i went to mechanic he jump started car without problems but he couldn't find what's wrong since my battery is new and alternator is fine too. He tested both of them and couldn't find anything wrong. Only thing that he "fixed" is some dust on relay 109 after he cleaned it all went fine for 5 days or so until today when i was driving home i see ABS light on again, then Air Bag, Steering Wheel, Hand Brake all on, each turns on after another. I managed to jump start it quickly thx to other drivers on road,  and i drived like 5 more miles and car stopped again :(

Any1 have any suggestions or maybe some1 experienced same problem?

Suggest you get it scanned to see if fault codes logged. A quick search of the site suggests steering angle sensor or ABS controller module.

That it won't start seems more generally electrical. Maybe check fuses on top of the battery and earths....

yeah well i went to garage yesterday and so far it looks like some wires under battery are rotten, tho mechanic is still not sure if that will fix problem

The main engine bay loom on some earlier cars used to literally fill up with water at the lowest point and cause all kinds of problems..

just in case some1 get this problem, it's fixed by replacing those 2 wires that goes from atlernator to battery
