Have just been told by the dealer this morning that my yeti was built yesterday, can't wait to get my hands on it.

This is the first diesel I have ever owned and wondered if any particular brand of diesel is better than others,I always used Esso petrol in the past. Would be interested in any comments you guys have. Thanks

Exciting times! Soon you will be counting sleeps ;)

Personally I always buy the premium diesel. I use Esso or BP usually.

Is this a face-lift or last of the old model?

If FL, it must be one of the first to be built, as only started FL production this week  (wk 45), and you will be one of the 1st to own - I am envious, as mine is not scheduled until wk 50 build.

Update - just seen on your previous posts that it is a pre FL. Anyway, at least it was built as scheduled.

I have the choice of Tesco, Esso, Shell, in my territory, in order of actual use.  No noticeable difference in price/performance.  One or two away-from-home 'super diesels' cost me more but didn't pay back in performance - someone using most/all premium juice might see a long term benefit, though.  JMO

I always use BP premium diesel or Shell equivalent when I can find a shell station (very few on my normal routes). My expensive choice proves absolutely nothing but as long as I can afford it, it puts my mind at rest.

From my point of view, diesel is diesel and petrol is petrol.  It all comes from the same refineries (whichever is the nearest to the outlet, by and large), regardless of brand, and the only difference is the additives used by each 'brand'.

I've been using Tesco diesel without any problem at all in a VW TDi PD engine for the last 13 or so years.  In this neck of the woods Tesco (with Clubcard points etc) has always been the cheapest, but I'd happily have used any 'brand' - any differences are marginal.

If my recent experience is anything to go by you can expect about 5 days for your car to go through quality control and then be transported by train to Emden.

Once at Emden it will be handed over to the shipping company who will assign it to one of the twice-weekly ships to Grimsby where it will need to be checked for British build spec and then transported by road to your dealer.

Mine was built on 15th October and, as far as I know, is still sitting at Emden awaiting transfer to Sheerness (only one ship making the journey about once a fortnight stopping at Santander and Setubal on its way back to Emden).
