thinking of buying an Octavia Estate

Featured Replies

EDIT: ignore - couldnt find option to delete this posting & noticed there are already plenty of threads about getting discounts for Skodas.

Hi all

First posting.  Have taken out a 1.4 DSG Elegance Estate out for a test drive & was very pleased with what a nice car it is.  the DSG makes a huge difference in driving comfort.

Hopefully I will be purchasing & perhaps contributing to the briskoda forum in the future, but I do have one question around purchase price.

From everything I have read there is little in way of discounting that is done for Skodas - is that everyone's experience?

They do have a good deal with APR of 0% which is I guess worth a saving of at least £1500 on a new skoda if you take finance.

Ive read the standard texts about haggling with car dealerships, but would be good to understand what sort of ballpark discount I could get.

Thanks

You're looking at in the region of 5% discount if you take the 0% PCP deal. If you're a cash buyer, you might get as high as 12% if you haggle well.

Go on http://www.carwow.co.uk/ and spec up what you want, you wil get half a dozen quotes, around 5.5% and 0% PCP is what you should be aiming for

I'm a cash buyer and got exactly 5.5% off. And that was by far the best deal. Other dealers were offering 1-3% off at the most. In case you go with a 0% PCP finance you get 0% around here.

I envy you guys getting the same or better deal with financing.

Thanks for responses.

Am torn between buying a 2 yr old mk2 estate elegance for £11,500 & a brand new one.  Same dealer but through carwow offered a 6% discount with 0% PCP where no discount was available face to face!

In addition I have looked at autoebid.com & minimum saving is around 15% if car pre-registered (unlikely from what I read on here), to 12% new registration, but I suspect that would be on condition of paying upfront.  Which confirms what you guys have already stated.

Anything to make the resale value as bearable as possible!

Behave, autoebid aren't discounting Skodas.
