Another rear wiper motor has died

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me a rough ballpark figure to expect for replacement of rear wiper motor, (2008 1.8 TSi hatch) including labour, probably at a main dealer down south!

£158 plus fitting, not sure if that includes VAT, just had one fitted under warranty, the dealer said mine was noisy when I took it in for service, I said it's been like that since new and thought it was normal! they fitted it and it was no different, I still think there's nothing wrong with it!

Mark.

Just had a warranty replacement authorised today at trust skoda in Wolverhampton, took my car in to have the air conditioning checked out (two pipes leaking apparently and also a warranty claim) and I mentioned that my rear wiper was noisy, they had a listen and said that it was, I had a 2013 octavia 3 and tried that rear wiper and it was much quieter, so I'm a happy fella

Parts are about £80ish from Skoda. 30 minute job to fit yourself.

Sounds good. Only concern I would have is how do you safely remove the rear trim? Should I get any kind of spare plastic clips or anything like that if I go and buy the motor?

Now here's the latest - after reading other threads on this, I went outside, pulled the rear wiper up away from the screen, operated the control and it moved a few inches.

Put it back down on the screen and it's working perfectly! (And it is pouring with rain here.)

Still, it is obviously on its swansong so I'll get a new one soon.
