Buy a vRS?

Featured Replies

I am now in the stages of considering to buy a new VRs. But I need some advice before I make the plunge.

Most of my daily travels are on the motorway (25,000 miles a year)

* What MPG should I expect?

* I understand that the service intervals are "variable" and have been told by the dealership that due to the type of travelling I do my service interval should be at the higher end of the interval (17,000?) Is this realistic or am I being told a sales clincher?

* What are the servicing costs?

* Should I consider any other "costs" to my yearly running?

* Lastly the only "option" that I am considering is the ESP at

Good car, but unless you can get a really good deal (and I mean REALLY good) I would leave it until the new one was released.

How does 13k brand new sound?

That's what autosales in Bilston were advertising today.

1. 30-35+mpg

2. Around 17k (20k max)

3. 1st service

Yep mine too - about 30k

For a 110 mile trip with a about 30 miles of b roads and the rest mway, I get (by the car computer) 40-41mpg if the mway is at 70mph droping to 32-33 at 90mph. Personally I think the car is a little optimistic and a more realistic is 38 and 30mph respectively.

Not sure yet as I only have 14k on mine atm. I had a Audi S3 on variable servicing as a company car - slightly less careful driving - and that used to go 18-19k between services, so i don't think 17k is unreasonable.

Pass

Speeding fines?? :D

Had mine for 32 months, did 138k miles in it.

Fuel economy; motorways cuising at 80-85 indicated, I'd get about 38mpg, A roads about 35, brisk driving on A roads about 30-32, trackdays about 12 and the Ring about 8-10 mpg.

Servicing costs: You can either go variable servicing or fixed 10k servicing. I went 10k due to my mileage and needing to know when it would need a service. Costs were:

10k =

as much as i love my vRS i'm not sure i'd buy another one yet, not knowing there will be a new one in 6 months time.
