twin pipes 2

Featured Replies

picked up chrome exhaust trims today, very pleased with the way they look, even taped together in the correct staggered position.

They look good: I'd be interested to know just how they fit: if, as you say, they might have to cut the original pipes,

I'll get on my hands and knees and take some pics of the clamps, saw marks(bodge) etc!! wait out as its dark at the mo so can't take them until the morning :D plus the guinness doesn't help!!! :drunk:

Well they should be welded, but they actually push straight on and if you do it far enough they are not going to come off.

Odd question.... are they for the TDI.. Im thinking of getting them for mine but the pipe ends bend down....

Hate the tdi exhaust look shame they couldnt have improved it a bit!

Yes and they still push on and look (and sound for that matter) fine. My mum has had it done on hers and I'll be doing it to mine when I have some spare cash.

Do you just order these from the dealer then?

Yep,

Thanks Chris, I'm off down the dealers tomorrow!

Jeff - how do they fit on a TDI? They look straight whereas the pipes are curved. And there's no notch in the rear bumper?

Could look very nice with a pair of chrome tips just visible behind the bumper...

The Fabia one is totally different to the one in the Octavia, not sure if that one will fit. You can get Fabia ones from the dealer (I had one on my 1.4 16v) and they are just dud trims that clip onto the exhaust and tighten up with a Jubilee clip so that it looks like they come out from underneath the bumper.

Anyone got any Pic's fitted yet?

I have ordered a set to be fitted at my first service a week on Friday.

They are welded onto the exhaust after the end of the original is cut off, just make it clear that you want them staggered before letting them fit them
