hope somebody can help thinking of buying a fabia vrs but the person say it has a bearing noise on tick over but once you press the clutch the noise goes and when driving the noise has gone he is telling me its release bearing but I am thinking gearbox problem any help would be appreciated

define bearing noise?

Quite possibly failing DMF?

a loud rattle

Sounds like DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel).

if it was a dmf wouldn't it be when clutch engaged not released

I thought that's when you could hear it? It goes away when you press the clutch the noise goes?

yes and when the car driving no noise

mine had a rattle when cold that wasnt there when driving and it needed the gear box oil topping up
