Rear door has gone dead after replacing front?

Featured Replies

Wonder if anyone can help.. I've just had my front passenger side door replaced, and I noticed the car wasn't locking fully, checked all the doors and it is the rear passenger side door. At first I thought it was just a locking issue, but it actually just seems totally dead (no lights, sound, windows). It was fine until now!

I am no expert but to me sounds like maybe some sort of wiring plug or similar has been dislodged - I say this as you say that nothing electrical is now working on that particular door. I would initially try graving all the wires etc to see if you can find it.

If your car has GEN3 door controllers then the fronts must match with the rears

Fronts run the rear as a slave unit

Sounds quite possible. I have an entire new front door. Is my rear door permanently broken, or is there anything I can do? I do have the remains of the old door.

what year is your car and what year car did the doors come from?

Mine is '07, I'm not 100% sure on the donor, but it was slightly older, I think 2005 or 2006.

well there is a problem there straight away

2007 is probably GEN3 with different wiring the GEN2

Is there some kind of a control module I can switch over from the previous door, or is all of the wiring completely different too?

wiring is different too

If you can swop the wiring and door controller over, that should fix it
