HID lights leveling

Featured Replies

Do your dipped beamed HID headlights seem to shine quite high up the hedge on the left side? The right seems ok and I don't get flashed but unsure as only just had then fitted.

On the level adjustment what do you have them set too with HIDs installed? Mines currently on 0, the same as when I had my standard halogen bulbs installed.

Cheers

Theyre supposed to go up on the left. Its just more prominant with HID's installed.

Iv never been flashed with my fabia with them in. Although after i overtook a car today he put his full beams on. Made me think i caused him some distress when i was following him (although i always keep a decent distance). He did keep his on full for ages though. Made me slow down on thd bypass until he went past. Then showed him what HIDs can do on full haha

Both beams have a kick at the left, drive up to a wall and you should see both beams look the same.

As above both kick up left.

I see road signs light up too much more with hids than any halogen equipped car ive ever driven

Okie dokie, thanks. Just making sure mine are normal. I love um! Soo good compared to Halogen.

Get the light alignment checked at a garage. I have mine on the 1 mark as they are bright and do bounce about a bit on uneven road.

Thanks for your responses. I have had the beam alignment checked at a garage and all is OK. If the manual adjustment is set to 0 people tend to flash me. If I set it to 2 I am OK but I can only see a few meters in front, how does everyone else get on?

I must admit that the only time people flash me is when I go over a hump in the road but driving down an A road to work most of it is up and down :P

Cheers

is that 0 on the adjuster in the car?

If you have that at 0 and you get flashed the lights are not alligned properly. Although, from a previous thread, there is a difference between Xenon and Halogen headlight units so this could be why.

Best thing for other road users is for you to keep it to 1 for example so they are not pointing up
