I understand the 20000mile/2yr service on my Fabia vrs is around

Be careful what oil you use too though. I have a friend who does warranty claims for a local VW dealer. He was telling me that VW rejected a claim recently when a customer had his car serviced somewhere else and they used a non approved oil.

I know that you are allowed to get your car serviced anywhere now but I feel sure that manufacturers use every trick in the book to get out of claims if it is not dealer serviced. After all, there are few excuses they can use if it is regularly serviced by them.

I also think there is something to be said about having manufacturers service stamps in your book. I know it probably doesn't add much value (if at all) but it does show that the car has been serviced to their recommendations.

I am sure someone here will disagree with me but it is just my opinion.
