Alternator fuse

Featured Replies

Which fuse is for the alternator?

I was working on the car and the spanner which was on the alt positive nut touched a near by clamp on a pipe. Now im not getting any charge from the alternator.

Any ideas peeps?

isn't there a fuse in the battery/engine fuse box for the alternator. look for a blown 150/200 amp one

All sorted.

The fuse is one of the link fuses down the side of the engine fuse box, the 200a one.

Need to find someware to buy a replacement now

Hi,

Alternator stopped charging the battery the other day.  Just wanted to check for anything obvious before taking it to the garage.  Seems that there's a fuse for the alternator.  Not sure how to access it.  There's a plate on the front of the fuse box.  On the left hand side under the B it's marked 200A.  I'm guessing that there's a link fuse somewhere here, but not sure how to access it.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm sure you have to replace the hole buzz bar.

Would it be obvious if the fuse had burned?  Are the actual fuse-y bits hidden under the plastic blocks?

Thanks.

Iain.
