The Wife is trading in her 2009 Skoda Fabia hatchback for a 2013 Fabia Monte Carlo Estate and my question being, the new car has 205/40 R17 wheels on it but I wonder if someone could advise if her existing winter tyres which are 195/55 R15 would be OK to fit to the new car without affecting speedo, insurance etc.

Yep should be fine, you'll find the Spare in the Monte will be a 195/55/15, thats if you have a spare.

Our Monte is back on winters for it's second year and they are 195/55 R15 (photo from last year).

 

 

Alloys bought stock clearance from a dealer with a good discount; type used on the Fabia Blueline 2009 special edition.

I managed to find some 16" genuine VW steels to fit my mk1 VRS winters on - 205/45/16. Both the steels and tyres seem to be like hen's teeth in those sizes!
