Scott's corrida red

Featured Replies

Hi all. So been a member on here since March when I first bought her.

Paid a fairly top end price (from a stealers) for a 54 plate with fish and 76k on the clock. Two owners from new.

This was our only car so modifications kind of took a bit of a back seat whilst it was being used as an everyday motor.

However....I have now bought the other half her own little zoomer for ferrying the kids around in and shopping trips so the fun shall now begin!

Some pics when I bought it:

The only major mod I have done at the moment is an rtech remap (amazing!) that was done back in April:

It's mainly just been maintained and cleaned enthusiastically! And has recently just had a service with pickup pipe change.... Oh, and I found some smooth green hammerite too and painted the plastic nut covers.

Also just fitted a pioneer double din which was a bitch!

More pics to come soon as I don't have them on ipad at the minute.

Things bought this week:

LCR front splitter to pick up and fit Wednesday

Wheels in for plastidip on Friday (120 for all 4!) still undecided on colour though....thoughts?

A trip to js performance in Lincoln for some of their nice green silicon hose goodies.

Wish list/to do list

Rarb

Two new front tyres

Polybushed

WATCH THIS SPACE.....MORE TO COME LATER TONIGHT!

Reds are easily the sexiest colour!

Got so many ideas and things I want to do to it now I've finally got it all to myself!

Just been looking at these:post-100537-0-65331300-1384719315_thumb.jpg

Any have one and is it worth it? Obviously gonna have to do something about getting more air through the bumper too

the red army continues to grow!!

Nice motor. Ive got one of thoses kits on mine, makes all sorts of whoosing sounds

  • Author

Lol at whooshing noises brownbarge! I like whooshing noises!!

I think they look decent but they only come with the blue rubbers so Il have to get some green ones from js when I go

Out of interest has anyone got any experience of plastidipped wheels and the longevity etc? I know about grills but wheels take a bit more of a battering and it's mainly for protection over winter.

Ive thought about plastidip for alloys myself and the general views on the rest of the car forums is great but two things concern me which are cleaning, with a power washer and changing tyres

  • Author

Ive seen the place where I'm getting mine done post videos on fb showing the durability with an 1800 pressure washer and they are perfect after.

I'm needing two new fronts soon so I will let you know!(probably should get the tyres first but ah well!)

There are some good y.tube vids showing it too.

I will check out the youtube video's :)

So,a teeny update.

Splitter arrived at seat dealer so went and picked it up and lightened my wallet in the process by £44 (for plastic??!!)post-100537-0-62127400-1384865563_thumb.jpg

Hopefully (weather permitting!) Fitted tomorrow by removing bumper and using self rappers.

I've also ordered one of these.

After brownbarge said it made whooshy noises I was sold haha

Sweet! I know I won't be edot powerwise but can't wait for the increase in noise! Handy if I decide to go for atage two a some point aswell.

Easy to fit?

  • Author

My sausage fingers lol

In theory yeah its easy to fit. Remove the front wheel and the arch liner for access. Mine was a bloody arse to fit, i had to relocate that stupid alarm siren( you can see it in the pics) and remove your original box.

So just a small update on a couple of jobs that gotdone this week.

The first was fitting a new double din with Bluetoothha fatter and changeable colours to suit interior lights.

Pretty cheap but still need a fascia adaptor for a proper fit.

Next came a nice eBay special from 800bhp.com which was this beauty

IMAG0157_zps1e21c366.jpg

To be honest it wasn't too difficult...just a little bit fiddly wiggling it into the right position but the sound is amazing!

I run a standard dv and you can hear it much much more now as well a a little throatyness and a whooosh as the air is sucked in along with the turbo spoiling up.

Then yesterdayi picked these back up after being plastidipped

IMAG0174_zps3cc336e6.jpg

The finish is really good, but the green nut covers from when I hammerited them I'm not so sure about!

I also reckon that they don't go with the paintwork on the body that good with them being a matte finish sooooooooooive booked in for a full body matte red plastidip on the 9th.

And last but not least I found time for this to go on

P.s, apologies about the rubbish update but doing it quick at work!

Got a different pic of the car with the wheels done. As you can see, I'm thinking the matte doesn't really tie in with the gloss but hopefully the matte red pladtidip should make it look better.....if not then I'm thinking matte black wheels (can't go wrong with black! Screenshot_2013-11-25-08-44-38_zpse89575

They still look purple

  • Author

Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Matte black it is then!

They just don't photograph very well.

ooooo blue wheels
