Class my 2 boys ask me to do the DV dad.

My partners getting me one of those as a gift which I'm looking forward to fitting.

I've got a filter on mine at present but doesn't help in anyway as not got a direct cold feed at present but my 5yo loves it and also asks if we can make it go tisshh down the road lol.

How did the wheels cope at the jetwash?

Well I've been working 12 hour shifts this week on the steelworks where the roads are FILTHY!! so I've been nipping to the garage on the way home and jetting it down every night under the arches etc and so far I have only used water and no shampoo etc but they are still absolutely spot on. I'm not sure how many coats he gave them but I reckon it was about 5.

He said when they do the car itself they will give it 8 on the body and 12 on the bonnet/wings/front bumper for added protection.

The one thing he said to avoid was tyre shine on the tyres if it drips onto the wheels it can damage them and he also said snow foam was the best way to clean them.

I guess it all depends on the number of coats applied as to how durable they are at the end of the day.

You could take it to one place and it not be as good as another.

December 9th is the biggy for me when the whole car is done so pics and details to come soon...

Dec 9th is the big day, nice one get some pics up.

Right....I've finally got the car back from pladtidip.

Been there for two days and picked her up this evening so I've only got the pics that FST took but I'm really pleased with the results!

B pillars wernt done as they are easier to vinyl rather than dip, so this will be done when the rarb of Clive (cheers mate btw!) is here.

So, some pics of the finished dip....Screenshot_2013-12-11-19-18-43_zps523c85Screenshot_2013-12-11-19-18-52_zps82c652Screenshot_2013-12-11-19-19-01_zps81aee0Screenshot_2013-12-11-19-19-08_zpsf08751

The pictures really don't do it justice....it really does stand out in the flesh.

Thoughts?

ive got the itch to pick

Haha!! I remember that!

I did ask then about the wheels while I was there Terkin and they said if a glossifier was added it would just look like a s#@$ paintjob, cos at the end of the day that's what powdercoaters are for:which; is true!

And as a temporary covering for a year maybe, I'm happy with and it does look the nuts in person BUT I've noticed already that it looks really poo when it's a cold night and condensation builds up on it.

I plastidipped my winter wheels and they came out a similar colourhttp://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/294390-dip-it-dip-it-real-gooda-diy-wheel-refurb-thread/

Take care with it, my wheels weren't done very long ago and winter hasn't been kind

So far so good with mine...just hard not to use stuff that is abrasive to them!

the wheels look good in the pics im just messing cant help it :hi:

will be over soon for a slice of that cake though

So, just realised by looking at the pics that my car is faaar too high up...prosports on order tomorrow and hopefully fitted at same time as rarb.

Also purchased a few of the brake caliper sticker jobbies off eBay and a couple of small gel vrs badges to go under the side repeaters.

I've kinda been persuaded to go halves on a track car with one of my friends though, so modding of the skud may take a back seat for a while!

prosports!! another legend ;)

track car??

But shorter car is less weight over the back end on a rwd which is less stability around a track...

stability?? tis is a drifter not a track car
