Connects2 mp3 audio in connection query

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I'm new to both the forum and Skoda ownership so apologies for the potentially stupid question, but here goes...

I've got a Fabia MkI VRS on an 07 plate. It's fitted with the OEM Symphony head unit (not the Grundig one). I've just bought the following item from amazon, as had the equivilant for my Pug 206 and was happy with the result/simplicity of installation:

I've got the head unit out (using a CD cut in to 5mm strips, which works well if you don't have access to any blunt jogsaw blades!) and wired up the unit as per the instructions.

However, I can't seem to get any audio out. This is because I can't switch it to CD mode without a CD in the player, and if there is a CD in the player it will only play this. With my old Pug I had a CD changer cable attached so could cycle in to this mode without actually playing anything. Do I need an additional lead to mimic an input of a CD Changer? Or is there something more straightforward using the controls I'm missing as I can't seem to find anyone else who's had a similar problem previously?

I can add photos of the head unit/connects 2 pins if that would help.

Thank you,

Matt

Hi Vindaloo.

Thanks for the link and quick response. Looks like it's working now, think I might have had a loose connection between the black earth cable and the head unit. Gave it a wiggle and seems to be working. The aux in is a fair bit quieter than the radio though. Do you know if this is a common problem as I don't remember this being the case on my Pug (could be wrong though).

Cheers,

Matt
