Elegance and Sport - Suspension

Featured Replies

Same on mine the front and sides look reasonable but the back is filthy that's in silver leaf

So White would be worse to keep clean.

  • Well…You have shocked me there fella...   I think the ride is absolutely brilliant, especially given the size of the car   They got it spot on IMO

  • I think white looks great with the tinted windows and alloys! (I would) That being said it looks great in all three colors! :-)

  • Order the 16's fella If you don't like the ride, I suppose I'd swap my 15's with you... Just call it goodwill at Christmas, or whatever Honestly... the things I'll do to help people out :p

I dont know if swmbo's citigo is fitted with sports suspension (it was one of the first press test cars, and has EVERY option, but based on an se, looks quite like the sport)

here it is...

I hope you're not serious sharkrider... :wonder:

We want to go with 16" Serpens...Does that mean the ride will be really hard..She currently has VW Polo on Coilovers but i guess CitiGo will be miles ahead of her Polo re the ride quality...

Mine was an Elegance with the greentec (same as Sport) lowered suspension and it wasn't hard at all on 15s.  Can't see 16s being THAT much worse.

Shame they didn't do a Sport when I got it as the little splitter would have finished it off nicely...

My preference is obviously... red. ;)

One car I'd have been happy to keep, thinking about it.

I think it's been proved on another thread that the "sport suspension" is exactly the same spec code as the greentech lowered suspension. Please excuse me if this has been mentioned previously on the thread. Like other posters have said though, it's a great handling car either way.

Pretty sure we'll order the sport version...;) just not sure about the size of the wheel. I'm telling her 16" but she thinks 15"

Order the 16's fella

I'm not lying about the ride of my two cars, I'm in them both often! and I have a bad back! just done 400+ miles in the citigo this weekend! however it may well have eibachs on it, due to it being a press car, it has every other option..... I seriously doubt the difference between 15's and 16's would make much difference though....here is a view of ride hight... (on 15's)

She's does really like the look of your CitiGo Sharkrider...:) she really wants white CitiGo sport but prefers black stripes, not the red ones. Well...she's got lots to think about befroe Saturday as we are find to order one and she needs to decide what's she wants...I know what I want next...Skoda Yeti 4x4 2.0 TDI 170bhp...;) Stunning car...!!!!

Hey ours is unique ! :p seriously though, the stripes aren't that expensive, u could ask the dealer to remove the red ones, and put black ones on?

If I had a yeti it would be the 1.8tsi with a K04 conversion ;)

  • Author

May ask the dealer to actually do that for us...Never drove the 1.8 TSI and due to my commuting diesel is a wise choice for me...You probably never sat in Rich Yeti...Visited him on Saturday and went for a quick (I actaully mean QUICK) drive around and my god...She's damn quick...!!!!

Roll on Saturday...!!!!

It's that whole build thread that made me think what an awsome sleeper it could be!

I think the stripe kit is around £180.

If buying now I'd get the 1.8tsi 4x4 Yeti, but at the time I wanted to do a lot of miles and don't like fuel stops every two days.

Still quick enough most of the time though. ;)

Preston Motors put the stripe kit on my Elegance Citigo before I collected it.

If you ask them they'll be able to get your stock alloys done black too, if it's an Elegance you go for.

Maybe you could add the Sport splitter later to an Elegance?

Definitely think the black stripe adds more to the White Sport, than the Red stripe does...

Especially as it compliments the black alloys a bit more IMO

I'll ask them to use the stripes from the red one (black and grey) on the white one and maybe they will do it. If not she will have to go with the red stripes...

Do the dealers put the stripes on the Sports or are they done in the factory?

Asking as the stripes are stock, not accessory like on an Elegance.

Been thinking about the elegance but it all depends on the price Richard...;)

Not sure but worth asking I guess...:)

Really...?????????? I'd never think she's that QUICK..!!

I was just wondering about the height of the splitter and kerbs/parking.

Would the Elegance be preferable and add the splitter later or is it high enough on the Sport not to be an issue for a new and inexperienced driver?

(While they gain some real world driving experience)

Same for 15" rims actually... harder to damage you could say.  Then keep them for winters later maybe and upgrade to the 16s?

I thought you were talking about the modded 1.8 yeti! It's Richards complete lack of fear that makes his yeti sooooo fast ;)

She's not inexperienced tbh as she passed her test march this year...;) she's been driving her VW Polo since but as the polo being such as unreliable car she's not confident enough to drive it to any other places exept her work place which is only 2 miles from our house. The reason I want to get her the CitiGo is so she can gain some confidence and start using the car for all other things and getting to places like shops, friends etc which she doesn't do now due to her polo being the worst car ever and she absulutely hates it...! It broke down soo many times since she's got it...:/
