NQSBBK Questions

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a good deal on the Porsche NQSBBK plus fitting kit? Is there anywhere other than Ebay? Is there a rear brake upgrade to go with it or just keep them standard?

Also, what's the best brake fluid to go with it? Daily driver but will do the occasional track day.

If you can get the fitting kit from VagBremTechnic they are £200 and supposedly better quality than the eBay offerings. You've probably also established a second have set of calipers are IRO £200 per pair and budget £200 for a proper refurb if needed.

Rear upgrades are the Caddy caliper (bigger piston, works with the stock disc) or S3 rear setup. I haven't bothered with the years yet.

I am using ATE blue fluid which seems to be perfectly good.

Thanks for the reply. Can't seem to find calipers for less than £320 on Ebay, and they'll need refurbishing too! Might try my luck with the local scrappies. What discs and pads go well with them?

I've been told that ATE Super Blue isn't road legal due to the blue colouring they put in it. Anyone know of good alternatives?

I hadn't heard that about super blue. It won't put me off using it either.

There was a plentiful supply of 986 calipers 12 months ago, just keep trying the Porsche breakers and eBay.

Got mine used off mk5golfgti.co.uk - quite often good stuff for sale on there.

Do they fit under neptunes?

Not without a spacer. 5mm I think. They do however fit under Zeniths and a variety of aftermarket wheels.

No you need a bigger one than that unfortunately - I tried 8mm and it wasn't enough. They're fine under my neuspeeds but I have a 10mm spacer for the neptunes (my winters).
