What do you have for storage in your boot?

Featured Replies

Netting, storage bag, plastic box or nothing??

I am currently looking for something to get for my boot, i'm sick of having things just rolling around in there, i place 4-5 shopping bags in the boot and by the time i'm home, the contents of at least 2 of the bags is out of the bags lol

I came across this, have a look at post number 8 in this thread - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/254347-boot-storage/

A rubber mat and a plastic storage box on top, the rubber should have enough grip to hold the box fairly securely and stop it from moving about when driving

What do you think??

Hmmm think I have the oem netting knocking about somewhere

In addition to my comments in the other thread, I have a £4 small boot storage bag from Tesco.

There used to be a "tell me when it's back in stock" option but I can't find it now. Anyways, they're £4, have two velcro strips that stick to the floor and back/side. They'll easily hold coolant, bulbs, first aid kit etc. Maybe 5L of oil is a tad large/heavy though.

As OEM Mk1 Fabia stuff is now rare...

I'd go for the storage box or a folded net behind the rear seat. (Again, see my previous posts).

For more general "tie down" use, have a look for cargo tie down loops/hoops and "Velcro LIPO battery tie downs - model helicopter" on eBay.

The OEM Fabia boot nets attach cleats to the plastic trim near the rear lights, to hold the upper end(s) of the nets.

I reckon for around £25, you could get a couple of nets, plus loops, hooks and pretty much get it sorted.

I also spotted (for £29) a boot liner plus carpet insert that looked quite good.

Currently, my shopping is safe but the boot is ugly, courtesy of having dumped rubble and cast iron bath remnants and garden waste down the dump. On reflection, a sturdy polyprop liner with loading overhang would be a reasonable investment.

I don't keep anything in my boot.

Apart from spare wheel and associated toolkit.

Job done :)

Lol my boot is a **** hole, do you know those fold up laundry baskets? I might get one of those then tie it down or something.

That would be decent if it was bigger

Something like this would be ideal:

Love the look of that, perfect size! Do you know where you can get that from?

A plain black universal one would be better then that.

I have a folding box from Lidl, bought last year - which just happens to back on offer on Monday:

It has velcro on the base to stop it sliding around and concertinas (?) to just have half the size, or fold flat if needed. I bought it as a stop gap until I found something better, but it's still there and unlikely to be replaced.

2 bungee  cords one at each side running between the two tie down loops .... holds stuff steady against the boot sides
