This evening's work...

Featured Replies

Better late than never.... started machine polishing the car at last!

Swirl marks are absolutely horrendous on this car :-/  I've always washed it carefully... but not previous owner!

Removed the old (knackered) badges and numberplate, then clayed it. This took bloody ages due to all the tar on it :-/  Then masked it up with the blue 3M tape (cracking stuff!). Tried a variety of compounds (Menzerna) and pads (Hexlogic) with a DAS-6 Pro, but in the end had to wet and dry quite a bit of it. I ended up bottling it and leaving some of the scratches there.

Then all sealed up with Colly 426s which I bought for the first time today. It's brilliant!!

The rear of the car now looks 100 times better! It's far from perfect, and ideally I want a re-spray sometime in the very near future.

I have my tinted OE Skoda badge fitted now also, and put on a new plain black numberplate surround :-)

Now to do all the other panels....!!!! B***ocks!!  :wall:

Looks ace mate! Top work. I really would like a machine polisher

Looks great mate. Well worth it.

I did mine earlier this year and it's still looking quite good. 2-bucket method helps. Does take a lot of time and effort though.

Looks stunning mate, so glossy.
