who are 'Press-auto trader'?

Featured Replies

Got Fabia 1 advertised in Auto Trader And had text from 'Press-Auto Trader'offering asking price less £100. Anyone had experience of them as I've not heard of them? Are they a bit like 'we buy any car' offering less when they actually turn up?

What do you have to lose?

If it's genuine then you've almost got what you want for your car, if it's not then they're basically just another time waster. I'd be gob smacked if any dealer would make an offer without seeing and driving the car, so I'd be more inclined to not pursue it than pursue it.

if they turn up and offer less just tell them where to go

Yep, it's a scam

We had a text message last night form autotrader, basically said, ‘Renault M.. still 4 sale? I can offer £800 & collect tomorrow! Visit http://www.services-autotrader.com enter PURCHASE ID *********. we visited the site which looks genuine but when you click to the next page it asks for a refundable booking deposit of £50.00. which you apparently get back when the buyer & recovery vehicle gets to you. They ask you to go to a PPoint and get something called a Pay Safe Card Voucher of the value £50.00 and send them the 12 digit pin number. Has anyone had this?
