Will the ibiza climate control LCD work on a mk1 fabia?

Featured Replies

With a little modification would this fit inside a mk1 fabia?

I would assume there isnt a lot of difference between the two as the chip on the climate control module would monitor the temp etc?

Other than that the function is the same, buttons for speed/heat and direction (&AC)

I've thought about this a lot in the past!

I was thinking one from a skoda superb though to keep it green.

Sadly, no. It won't work. If it would, we'd all be ripping the Climatronic systems out of the Elegance models that have it.

The vRS has Climatic air conditioning. It only has one sensor - air temperature inside the car. It just blows hot air or cold air until the temperature inside the car is about right.

The Ibiza and Fabia Elegance have Climatronic which uses two interior sensors, a sunlight sensor and the exterior air temperature to work out how much heat or cooling you want.

I asked Tech1e how hard it would be to do ages ago and he just shook his head. If he won't do it, it's probably nigh on impossible.

If you had the whole system from an Elegance, you probably could make it work, but it would be a lot of work.

Would be unique and a one off I'd imagine!

When you say fabia elegance, do you mean the new shape model?

I've never seen a pre 2007 fabia with digital climate control that's all.
