Anyone else got silly electrical problems??

Featured Replies

Wifes Octavia 2 has been great....however over the last two months or so it plays up...electrically.

When you go to adjust the mirrors it adjusts both instead of one...also when you flick up the indicator stalk, instead of clicking off it flashes the opposite side.

And......when you go to unlock the doors from the drivers side with the key...it is temperamental about how many doors it opens...

Gonna take it back to the stealers obviously, but wondered if this was common with anyone elses, a design fault with it being a brand new model...or simply just sods law???

Thanks...Paul :)

Haven't heard of any major electrical problems with the Octy II. At least mine is ok (touch wood)!

Now if you'd had a Laguna II then I could've given you a list of things that'll go wrong!

1. The mirrors are supposed to work like that.

2. Thats because the lane changer (three flash) function is a little sensative.

3. Once with the key will open the drivers door, twice will open the rest if its set on single door opening

So the mirrors dont work independently??...so why does it have a left and a right adjuster???

They do work independently adjust the drivers side to where you want it, then flick it across to the passenger side and adjust that. They only work together when the switch is on the drivers side. You will also notice they dont move the same anyhow, if you adjust one in the other also moves in (actually the opposite direction). This is so if another driver gets in who is shorter/taller all they need to do to reposition the mirrors is flick the switch to the drivers side and pull it in a touch.

Its in the owners manual.
