Skoda DX Sat Nav - Aux In

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know this topic has been discussed a few years ago, although after reading through 3 pages it seems that a lot of the information is unconfirmed and links to items for sale have expired.

Can anybody tell me for sure if you can plug a 10 pin plug into the auxiliary socket and run straight to a pair of RCA outputs. Something like this

maybe, although these items are only advertised for VW and Audi, not Skoda.

If anyone has done this with success, please let me know

Cheers

I'm going to give this a go, based on the info in that thread these black cables need the insulation trimming a bit to fit better, the blue Dietz 1213 cable seems better.  They are available on ebay now for reasonable money it seems so I've bought one.

It seems like if you are charging the thing you plug in you will get hum - my previous Citroen also had this issue which a supressor can help with a little.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Would like to know see how you fit a surpressor if you could let me know when you do it. Hum can be a pain on mine.

Hrmph... on my Superb I can't get the DX unit out enough to connect the aux in cable... :( I have the right keys but it gets stuck just short of being out enough - seems to be the cables on the back side nearest the glovebox are either tied or snagging somewhere.  I'm not going to pull it just in case so looks like I'm going to have to take the glovebox out to have a look.  Oh well, I can do that V68 flap motor while I'm at it...

When I took my DX unit out it was the same.  The cables go in to the DX slot through a smallish hole in the 'box' the DX sits in, on the nearside - you can feel this if you get your hand up behind the centre console above the transmission tunnel, and feed the cabling through a bit.  Worked for me at least.

Oh, and don't rest it on the gear shift - It'll leave a mark you can't help but look at every time you get in the car  :wall:

Been there got the tshirt now always have a towel to cover all the centre console with when taking stereos etc out - a lesson you only learn once eh! :)

But thanks for the reminder.  I'd be gutted to mark up my nice piano black shifter.

Good infos on the cable location - that will help me no end.  I'm tempted to get one of those USB/SD card CD changer emulators to install while I'm at it.

Do any of you fancy a phatnoise unit to go with your DX unit?

(I took it out of my dads car before he upgrade to a mkII)

I have spare complete system if you want to make me a "resonable" offer.

Nackuk,

Pm me a price on it?

Cheers
