Sell it with modifications or not...

Featured Replies

Just seeking advice on this, thinking of selling my vRS in the new year and I was just interested in opinions. Would it be better to sell it at it's current state of modification, or return it to standard and sell the parts separately??

Depending on the mods you may well get more by selling them and removing then and selling the car standard.

A modified car is always going to narrow down the number of people looking, I think the key is to be realistic about how much of a premium the mods add (typically very little)

I personally would never buy a modded car, and suspect that unless your buyer is a real enthusiast your mod's will actually lower the value. I would remove them and sell them seperately.

try it on here first as it is. if it doesn't sell then return to stock and try again?

This for me too. Your best bet of selling a modified car is in specialist forums like this. The sort of person who would buy it will know to come here.

eBay and Pistonheads can also be a good shout for modified cars.

Ultimately you never get the value of your mod's, so you need to decide if getting maximum cash or convenience are most important. Cash = de-mod and sell separately. Convenience = sell as is for whatever you're offered.

I'm thinking breaking it would be more beneficial, as it won't be as painful letting it go!
