DIY wheel painting

Featured Replies

Thinking of painting my spiders anthracite , was wondering if anyone has painted there own wheels and were pleased with the result ?

The big issue with DIY is the time taken to prep them and then being able to cure the paint, this ideally needs to be done at temperature in an ‘oven’, the main problem will be how long the paint lasts.

TBH when people like citypowdercoating will chemically strip, shot blast, sand, powder coat and finally lacquer a wheel for £20 it is not worth the grief, DIY will cost nearly that plus the many hours in prepping them for a finish that will be nowhere near as durable.
