Front OS indicator problem?

Featured Replies

OEM-08-09-10-11-Cadillac-CTS-24WY-TURN-SWas on a run today, when the bulb out came on, found out that the OSF indicator bulb was on all the time,

Took whole bulb unit out only to find that its complete unit, that the loom plugs into.

Went to a car parts store they said its a 581 bulb but its totally different, so  where can I  get one from, apart from the dealers, even Halfords don't have them and the book says 581 bulb

What would cause the bulb to stay on??

could be a bad earth causing the bulb to stick on or the bulb holder itself

Just been out and checked if the other are still working, the nsr is not working, yet the fns and mirrors are and the ros is working just wonder if they are all on the same circuit

Does it have the number PH16WY on it?. As doing a search they are used by VW and Mercedes. If so there are a few on the dreaded ebay Have a look at  eBay item number:171182316521

It has HPC24WY on one side of the holder and Philips on the other, to remove it from the headlight I gave it a quarter turn and pulled it out, then disconnected the wire

Doing a search for that part number, I am afraid looks like a breaker or dealer only i am afraid.

A couple on ebay germany but not cheap and postage will make them more than UK. May be worth giving VW, Audi and Seat dealers a bell as well, just to check as sometime dealers may have old stock sitting they want to clear.  Thats if any near to you as depends which bit of the Borders you are in :)

If the bulb is staying lit all of the time then it is less likely to be the bulb and more likely the wiring / electrical fault?

Could a faulty relay keep the bulb on??

Just took it to my Mec, and he changed the rear NS bulb that had blown, but that's still not working and no power getting there, had to order a front one, so wont know until its fitted to see if its stopping the rear working
