Hmmmmm? :(

Hiya guys, As you know im new to having any sort of turbo car. So when it comes to boost pipes, egr delete, dpf delete and all the mumbo jumbo talk that comes with it.

I wanna know that if I have a Front mount instead of a side mount, does that work better?

EGR delete does that boost economy or performance? I know my dad said it'll stop the turbo and pipework from getting clogged up with oil and **** over time. But that can't be the only benefit?

Also, I've been told that diesels come with a DPF? what the hell is a DPF and if I take it off will it fail the MOT?

Also does anyone know where I can get a Leon Cupra Splitter quite cheap for my car? Cus the only ones I can find are £52!!

Cheers for any help received guys!

The Fabia vRS TDI doesn't come with a DPF so no need to worry about that.

EGR causes exhaust gases to be passed back into the air intake. Combine this with the oil vapours from the PCV and that's what causes the sticky mess in the intake.

A front mount intercooler will lower intake temps. If your car is modified to take account of it, it will make a big difference.

If your car is standard, it won't make much difference on its own unless you're really pushing the car in hot weather and getting heat soak. A cheap way to improve the side mount is to put a vent in the arch liner to let the hot air out.

Thanks for advice dude.

All I know is that the owner before me has re-mapped it but doesn't have a dyno print-out so I don't know what its running? Cause I know if you run it too high you'll blow the original turbo wont you?

I can pull away easily from a 1.8T audi a3 that's 150bhp?

Ok, so the mk1 doesn't have dpf so can't be removed. The egr doesn't increase power or anything like that, it recirculates crappy gasses back through the engine to reduce emissions, so removing this arguably cleans up the engine, pretty much the only benefit.

A front mount is more efficient than a side mount and will need to be swapped if running big power (ie more than remap) as will help keep temperatures down .

Ideal. Thanks for the advice guys. Sorry im not what you call mechanically minded but im getting there, I just don't wanna do something that will **** my car, cus I love it to pieces! haha:)

Any idea's on a LCR splitter??

Cheers. Tom.

It's ok mate, I was the same 3 years ago when I was new around here :giggle:

It's a black rubber lip at the bottom of the front bumper on a Seat Leon Cupra R which is pretty universal.... Seen one on a Fiesta Zetec S once. Best place is the dealer or the parts for sale section.

From Round £39 on fleabay I do believe (sW one for that yesterday)
