What are the average prices for mk1's these days?

Featured Replies

Got a 1.4 16v but the tax is shooting up year on year and i think i may have to move to something else at some point..any recommendations? 1.9 diesel fab perhaps? Dont suppose anyone wants to swap :P lol

Tax is going up at the rate of 5-10 quid a year.

So in five years it will be at best £25 more expensive than now

and at worst £50 more. Not the biggest expense in the world is it?

Mark 1 vRS Fabia 2-6k dependant on mileage, age and condition.

Mark 1 TDI Fabia 1-5k dependant on mileage, age, engine size and condition.

are the standard TDI fabia's worth the spend? I want another elegance if possible (i've got used to the heated seats haha!)

Yeah i suppose your right about the tax, i think my car is just a bad example - ex copper had it before me and ran it with no oil, so im slowly breathing life back into her but amongst a complete overhall of the brakes - new track rod end and anti roll bars, new hub carrier arm

and still needing to be fixed the radio (doesnt swap back to radio stays on tape) and the air conditioning (garage said it had a hole in somewhere and didnt work yet it seems fine...must be a slow leak)

Alongside the annoying problem that the car turns left on its own..ive had the tracking done and recently replaced the hub as it had collapsed inside the CV joint (how i dont know..)

Don't all Fabia's have the turning left on their own niggle?

It might sound harsh but if you're looking at a standard diesel, then you aren't really wanting a vRS for whatever reason.

Very different in the amount of performance etc IMHO.

From the standard 1.9 tdi? That seems like a huge increase! Do they do a 1.9 tdi elegance? ? Also whats the tax on it?

What did everyone mean about the turning left fault??

Turning left is a design feature for the US NASCAR fan market.

Do they?

So I can offer mine for swaps with a handy nascar design feature :P

Yes, I suggest a confederate flag in the back window, a shotgun rack on the parcel shelf and a bumper sticker that says "Hoot if you like big hooters" would almost certainly clinch the deal.

With a £3000 budget or more you can get a decent Mk1 Vrs imo, if your budget is less then I would get something else, with a get a lessor model in better condition kind of logic.

Sounds like a classic top gear road trip episode!
