Intermittent Clutch fault

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new on here and after a bit of advice.

I have a 12 plate Superb Estate 1.6CR with just over 37,000 miles on the clock and I'm having a slightly oddball fault.

On a number of occasions, when changing up from 2nd gear to 3rd on acceleration the clutch has momentarily slipped.  This has happened on changing from 3rd to 4th, but only once.  At all other times there is no clutch slipping or anything else that would lead you to believe anything is wrong.

The car went into my local dealer on Monday for them to look at.  They had a look at it and have diagnosed the fault as the clutch needing replacement and that its not covered under warranty as its a wear and tear component.

To say I'm not happy about this is an understatement....

Has anybody on here had a similar experience??

Jon
