Pink eye (London Colour HID)

Featured Replies

Ok, so over the last few days I noticed one of the HID's had started getting a pink tinge. It's also restarted itself after LH coming on, then ignition, at which point it goes off, then comes back on. It's done this intermittantly over the last month or so.

Already ordered (and recieved the very next day. Top marks to London Colour) replacement kit (5000k to replace the 4300k, still 35w though), so the question is more for future reference than anything else............

Bulb failing or ballast failing?

Ballast failing, especially with it cutting out and coming on again when restarted, eventually the ballast would stop firing.

I thought that 'pink eye' was something completely different

Update...........

Well, new kit arrived. I the old ballast, and still got pink eye. Replaced the bulb, no problem. Me thinks the bulb may have been affected by the wrong current being applied.

However, I did get the original off/on thing last night. :S

Have you coded the car correctly?

What's your battery like?

Car was coded nearly a year ago (by Gizmo) and all was fine up until then, plus it was was only (and always) the left light. Battery is fine, no issues anywhere else.

But: it's not done it since. So am leaning towards a dodgy ballast for the time-being.
