Wheels catching..

Featured Replies

Hey guys, i recently fitted some 17"tt comps, and with the natural extra width of the wheels now my fronts are catching on the plastic in the arch (on the outside edge) ive got toyo proxys on and cant remember the tyre size (will check later, at work now) but they do have a slight ammount of stretch on.. the car is lowered between 50-60mm and when ever i go on 50+mph roads i have to avoid any camber adjustment or they catch.. theres still around 1cm gap between the tyre and arch whilst at a stand still though..

Just wondering, can i get them to stop catching without raising the car?

Cheers :)

I had to raise car up to stop this problem I'm afraid .

Trim the plastic wheels arches

Problem solved :)

Haha yeah i suppose i could just do that matt.. with the tyre only catching a slight part of the arch that should sort the problem :)

Reeeeally dont want to raise it :( haha

The arch liners arent massively important :)

Theres a screw at the top that sticks out quite a bit.. if u take that screw out + cut about 2cm around that then u might be ok. Aslong as you leave most the other screws in it will be secure. When mine were rolled i took that screw + 2 others off + cut appox 2cm from the arch all the way around the top/ top sides + it no longer catches. (Did get the arch rolled at the same time tho)
