Octavia Sport TDi - Options ?

Featured Replies

I'm about to order my new company car - and am sold on the Octavia Sport. I've got a few

That's odd as it's a standard model on the website.

Perhaps they aren't making any more as the VRS is on it's way.

Personally I'd go for the elegance instead with the 17" wheels as there are some things I'd miss too much like the climate control instead of plain aircon

Thanks Dr - the lease company have allowed us to order the Sport with sat nav, so we'll see if it turns up !

The sport doesn't have Climate? That's one of the most important features of the entire car!

Dave.

Yep , it's based on the ambiente so it's just the basic air-con

Thats pants that is :thumbdwn:

The sport isn't the best in terms of spec - you also lose the parking sensors. Value wise, the elegance looks better - but it's not my money and I fancied something that looks a bit different.

Aircon vs dual climate doesn't worry me too much, A/C tends to be either on or off. Besides, I'm in Aberdeen, so the ambient temperature rarely makes double figures.

I ordered the sport and you can't have half of the stuff that are options on the other models. When I thought about it and the cost after I had specced it up to how I wanted it, I changed it to the elegance and specced that up as it seemed the much nicer car to be in and came with half the stuff I had added as options.

all you need to make it handle like the sport is add the suspension and pegasus pack, and that takes it up to the same cost as the sport anyway.

Now if I could spec the elegance with the sport front bumper I'd be sorted

Depending on the colour, you won't notice the difference anyway. It's the sport in my sig pic, but a black Octavia does not look any different.

My understanding was that the sport has a more "audi-like" front bumper - all vertical lines, whereas the other models do not - is this correct ? My local dealer doesn't have a sport in for me to look at & drive, what are pro's for the sport over an elegance with optional pegasus wheels & suspension ?

As i understand, apart form the 17"alloys + sports suspension the sport comes with the following extras over the elegance

Tyre pressure monitor/

But that's what's so great about Climate Control, you set the desired temperature no matter what the weather outside. CC maintains 22degs C in my car regardless of the season. No more constantly adjusting temp up and down.

Thanks Chris - I chose sat nav over leather to fill the lease allowance, never had sat nav so thought I'd give it a go.

Dodgy - the sport comes with climatronic climate control (so I'm told), so you can set the temperature, but only one temp for the whole cabin - as opposed to the independant driver / passenger control on the elegance. VW have done the same thing with the latest golfs - the more comfortable specs have dual control whereas the "sporty" gt tdi has just one temp setting.

You can! I have added it to my L&K and also having the rear bumper colour keyed. Dealer fit options though but my lease co had no issues with it!

My dealer said the "bodykit" wasn't an option ! Also quoted 16 week lead time on the sport ! Thanks golfturbo, I'll be on the phone this morning !

It's shown in the 04/05 Accesories catalogue,

front bumper spoiler part number FAA 610 001

rear bumper spoiler part number FAA 610 002

rear boot spoiler part number FAA 610 003

Exhaust trim part number FDC 610 003 (this will depend on the engine size)

I'm only going for the front as I have ordered an estate and the rear won't fit!!!

Thanks
