Hi, just got a new Octavia 3. What do you guys recommend to clean it? Also how often should you wax?

Most wax’s will last around 3 months - when the car stapes ‘beading’ (round water droplets) then the wax has broken down and needs redoing. 

+1 on Meg's Gold Class..a great car shampoo.

What colour is your Octavia?

Wax is best on dark colours.....Sealer on light coloured paint

All LSP's have varying durability from a couple of months to up to a year..waxes typically will last less well than sealants but not exclusively.

Have a look at this thread. In general terms if you look after it and use a quick detailer after washing to help maintain the wax you can manage 6 months between waxes/a full detail. Its rather addictive so caution is recommended! Snowfoam is best avoided if you dont want the neighbours to think you' lost the plot, but its great fun.

Wax wise I use autoglym high dev with autoglym shampoo conditioner. The key is to use ph neutral products which won't strip your wax between application.

It's brilliant silver so prop looks decent even without a wax but wanted to get your opinions

Hope I'm not hijacking this thread...

My car is a type of Grey, so would a sealant be best rather than the 845 I'm currently using? If so, I have some AGEGP, will that be okay?

Stick with the Collinite or you will have to remove it and clay the car to start again with sealant
