where does my power start?

Featured Replies

At what rpm does the turbo kick in and at where is the optimum revs to start acceleration on a remapped c r

The power for a diesel kicks in just before you need to change gear :) Particularly in my PD where it arrives (all in one mass) just as you give up hope and are about to press the clutch in to try the next one.

Lol see us common rail boys don't have that problem!

The turbo will start to kick in around 1500 rpm, the best acceleration on any engine is produced in the band between max torque and max power, so around the 2200 to 2500 mark is the peak torque. If I am pushing along I may change up around 3000 to 3500 rpm if pottering then it is fine to change up around the peak torque and let the engine pickup from just under 2000 rpm.
