Guidance needed Tdi pd.

Featured Replies

ok as it's winter an all i recently parked up my vrs and bought a cheap run about, by means of a ex taxi, bought the car for £400, it's a 2006 with a axr 100bhp pd engine, i scanned the car with vcds and got the fault code p3008, relates to a camshaft position sensor, it's forcing the car into limp mode, as the turbo is working freely and was boosting the other day, checked the vanes and they arren't choked up and did a little digging but getting mixed messages, on some forums people are suggesting that the timing may be out by a tooth of a few, ofc i have no history of the vehicle other than the belt looks in good nick, so i'am wondering, what should i do ? i don't want to buy a timing belt kit as it would = more than half the value of the car to get it working right, and i wouldn't recover the cost by reselling cause the car has done 230'000, any suggestions are welcome.
