Been having a problem with grabby brakes. I read on here that you can change brake assist  in VCDS which I do have but have never seen or found 'brake assist'.

Can anyone give info on this please.

VCDS Select Control Module, go to 03 ABS Brakes, then 10 Adaptation, go to Channel:

Channel 09 Brake Assist
There are 3 settings for this
0-center (stock setting)
1-small
2-hard
I tasted this one and finally locked it in value 2. I think the brake pedal and the whole system are more sensitive. My car was not braking any better but I did not have to push down the brake pedal as low as before and as hard as before to start braking.

Thanks for that BJB540. Looking at the categories, as in 'Do you want your pedal Small, Centre or Hard' I would guess the German loses something in translation. Short, medium or long or possibly Soft, medium or hard. Be interesting to try it and see.

Bump for @J.R.. with mk2 Fabia, so relevent to th do thread running there.   The setting was sometimes changed with cars for disabled drivers and cars from Motability. Maybe when hand controls were fitted.  Same as steering assist reset.  Often at hand back or trade in not reverted to factory setting.
