egr delete

Featured Replies

Deleted my egr today with allard kit and noticed the manifold-pipe had 2 hoses coming from it but no1 else I've seen on the Internet seems to have this. ..does anyone know what these are?

can you upload a photo?

The smaller diameter metal pipe that was previously connected to the bottom of the EGR? It has a widened section with two rubber hoses coming out - that'll be the EGR cooler. You will want to remove that too and attach the blank directly to the exhaust manifold, then attach the two coolant pipes together.

I think you'll need one of these - http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/1-9-8v-tdi-pd130-and-pd160-egr-cooler-delete-pipe-for-ibiza-polo-fabia.html

EGR cooler pipes, nothing to worry about. You can bypass them with a hose from Darkside Developments if you want.

Is there anything I can do with them without buying one of them for now?

Edited by LD1991VRS

Just leave them as they are, won't make any difference. Did you fit your blanking plate at the exhaust manifold?

No at the top of the pipe because of the 2 pipes coming from it I didn't know if I could disconnect them ot not

The small exhaust pipe will split, fit the plate on the exhaust manifold.

And what do I do with the 2 hoses?

Just leave them as they are.

But to blank it off at the manifold the pipe I have blanked it off at needs to come off? And the 2 hoses are coming out of that pipe

That's the cooler, remove the small exhaust pipe between the manifold and cooler and fit the blanking plate to the exhaust manifold. You don't need to worry about the coolant hoses.

The 2 hoses are connected to that exhaust pipe. .so I just leave them hanging?

The cooler is bolted to the engine with two hose connected to it so it should be secure, I removed the two small exhaust pipes at the exhaust manifold and at the EGR valve. The cooling system won't be effected, the only thing I needed done was have the engine management light mapped out.

Is there anyway of connecting the two coolant hoses together without buying one of those dark side hose?

You don't need to, it'll still flow through the cooler.

I don't think u realise where the 2 hoses are lol they are attached to the exhaust pipe that is coming off...there for ill have 2 loose hoses. .This been the coolant.

I've run an EGR delete for nearly four years, it's a simple job.

BLT?

Yeah, EML mapped out by Shark though most decent places can do it.
