As things can be download freely, is it possible to download Kindle Books and add them to your reader easily.

title changed from Kindke to Kindle

Yep you need a program on your PC called Calibre (free download). Then add your books to the library and it'll transfer them to the device converting the file type as required! I do this on my Kindle 4...

Welsh libraries have a system which allows you to read magazines on a PC/tablet etc. I've cancelled my Octane subscription. In Wales find it by searching wales libraries emagazines, you need to belong to a library ( and one local authority is not involved),

I'm sure the other three nations must have similar arrangements. I borrow e-library books too - and we both buy kindle books - over 300 now - the joys of not working :-)

Djswivel, done the calibre thing and can now read the book. But how do I transfer to the tablet, everytime I try to move it

, it reverts back to the original format.

The thing I like about the Kindle is:-

My wife has a kindle HD. She goes to bed around 10ish and I'm at work. I take the iPad to work to watch footie on my break, it's also linked to the Kindle HD. I get bored at work so I log into SWMBO's kindle account and when I think she's in bed reading I change the page for her, then I swop books. She rings me to tell the the Kindles thrown a wobbly.  " Don't worry love I'll sort it when I get home "

Little does she  know   ,...........Don't tell her but I can also turn the telly over with my Virgin App on my phone, That really make my day, :bandit:    Oh the joy's of going to work    :giggle:  I even  volunteer for Over time

To copy a book to Kindle,

1. make sure it is in Mobi format (or change it to mobi using Calibre)

2.plug in your kindle and windows explorer will find it as another drive

3. expand your kindle until you can see the "books" folder

4.copy and paste the book in to the kindle folder.

5.extract the .mobi file and copy it into the Kindle Books folder (root)

et voila

there are 1000's of books available on the torrent sites
