fabia vrs...is it for me??

Featured Replies

Hi all i'am looking at buying a new car later on in the year and i really like the fabia vrs.

At the moment i have a 95 N reg BMW 316i saloon. I like the fact that the fabia has teh performance that i'am looking for in a new car but also has lower running costs and is in a lower insurance group than many other hothatchs.

The thing is that with it being a deisel its obviously will benefit those who clock up alot of miles each year, which i dont.

I cover about 11k a year max and most of my journeys are no longer than 20 mins.

Will my style of commuting/driving harm a diesel car and will i be better of with a petrol??

Cheers

I wouldn't have thought it would harm the engine, some taxi firms use the same engine in the octavia and there are a few very high mileage (more than 300,000 miles) ones about and most of their journeys are about that distance.....just think 11,000 miles at 55 mpg ....how much will that save :D

Oh and welcome to Briskoda

My weekday driving is short trips, like yours. It then gets a blast at weekends. Expect high 40's MPG round town, and mid 50's on open roads, unless you hammer it all the time.

Yes, you'll be fine. My Furby VRS is the best in-traffic car that i've ever owned. It's just very "happy" crawling along, but ecstatically happy when it can get going!
