Changing to flat blades (aero blades)

Featured Replies

wiper's are starting to get rather annoying now so I would like to 'upgrade' them to the flat blade style... where's cheapest to get them from and does anyone have the codes for a vRS '06 ?

Have a look on ECP. I got mine from there and they are good. Mine are the Bosch Aero upgrade ones.

I forgot to ask, can you get a rear one too?

Ebay.

£6 for the fronts

£12 for a polo rear arm and blade :)

I don't suppose you have the name of a seller ? (Preferably from one you may have purchased from)

I'm rather sceptical about spending money over eBay unless trusted.

Genuine Bosch Aero blades are £16 ish inc p&p from ECP.

I got a Genuine Skoda rear wiper from Skoda Parts online.

Best place to wipers is either ECP or Wiperblades.co.uk. I bought Bosch AeroTwin fronts 3 or 4 years ago and still like them.

As for rear wipers you can buy an arm and aero blade from a Polo or mk II Fabia. However wilst looking wiperblade sites, I noticed they are 13 inch long, not 14 inches as standard Fabia ones, so they may look good, but you will actually see slightly less behind you, plus I belive you have to slightly modify the plastic cap to make it fit.

The only other alternative (other than refills) is to buy one of these: http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/skoda-fabia-hatchback-years-2000-to-2007/bosch-a350h-wiper-blade/  They are a flat bladed design, but fit into your existing arm.

Recently I purchased one from Euro Car Parts, for £14.10, and this is how they compare:

I looked afterwards and if you add P&P  Wiperblades.co.uk is actually slightly cheaper, (ECP had free P&P). Anyway, being made by Bosch, they should last longer than OEM. After fitting it certainly works better than the cheap refill I had.
