Ordered today - thanks for the help.

Featured Replies

After posing many questions on here and reading many threads I got my order in today.

1.4 Tsi manual estate in race blue in Elegance spec with sunset glass, heated seats, spare wheel and front flaps.

I went with the 0% offer and as such none of the local dealers would budge on price so I haggled on my part ex and got a good deal on that plus the front flaps thrown in.

I havent got a build date yet.

Interestingly, if the new deal that Skoda run in January turns out to be better than 0% and free servicing they said I could switch for no charge.

Better than 0% and 3 years free servicing, that will take some doing.

I've noticed that nearly everyone goes their own spec car build on this forum and therefore have to wait 4 to 5 months for delivery. Are their any other impatient sods like me who needed the car pronto and weren't too fussy on spec who went for an already or nearly finished car from the skoda stock list?

They only had three 1.4 Elegance models in stock. One black one loaded with options that was probably a cancelled order, and two Brown ones, which is a colour I don't like!

Were they not willing to discount the fully loaded black one then

What kit did the black one have out of interest? :) Congrats on the new car btw :)

I only remember that it had a fully panoramic sun roof thingy.

Im a sod and I dont care!

Well firstly- I had no need to add anything extra onto the Elegance spec. So do i:

1- Tell them to build a car specifically for me, and wait god knows how long,

2- Take an exact same car already on stock and get it in less than a month?

3- Purchase an SE and then spec it up to near as dammit an Elegance, just so I had an excuse to get one built just for me. Then once again wait god knows how long.

So wasnt a case of not being too fussy either. It was still exactly what i wanted.

Suppose i was lucky in that I had no need to add anything on.

I went into my local skoda dealer and went through the skoda stock list with their accounts manager for about two hours getting him to work out the pcp cost on every built or nearly built estate manual 2.0 tdi and 1.4 tsi that wasn't too garish a colour. Eventually settled on a silver 2.0tdi elegance with one extra of the spare wheel. Signed all the paperwork and went home.

Later in the day got a phone call from skoda advising me that by the time they put the order in the car I had chosen had gone and they had to spend an hour or two hunting for a similar car. In the end the closest they could get was the same car with spare wheel plus sunset glass and apple device which they had to pick up the tab for. Needless to say I wasn't complaining!

I love my 1.4tsi DSG Estate and I am sure you will love yours. My car took no more than 12 weeks from order to delivery and I added ACC to my car.

The big issue for me is not the wait it's the lack of info from the dealer.

Wedge69, I'm surprized you couldn't get a bit of movement on the price, I just ordered an Elegance 1.4 TSI DSG hatch, only options being a bootnet and rear side airbags in solid blue, got it for £20,300 on a 42 month PCP. I had to wave a Carwow quote from Alex Lawrie under their nose and say match it or lose it but, we got there.

Cityskoda of Basingstoke if anyone local is ordering prior to the 31st.

I guess it's an individual dealership thing - they all have their own targets after all. Certainly none around here were budging much.

Not sure where you are but, I just realised I didn't mention the space saver spare wheel is also in there too.
