Dreaded Engine Check Light!

Featured Replies

Hi this is my first Post.

I bought my skoda back in August and have been viewing Briskoda since. And very useful it is too!

I have a 58 plate octavia VRS diesel. Runs fine however the check engine light has appeared twice now. The code displayed is 08598. Other numbers displayed were 224 and the VAG number is 03L906022GB. A message also appeared saying 'DTC Definition not found. Please refer to vehicle service manual'. I have trawled the net but not found any match for it.  Does anyone know what the issue is. The 2 occurances have happened within about 400 miles of each other(about a month). I Used a generic code reader.

Seasons Greetings,

James.

Search the forum and ask a member with VCDS to do a scan for you. The fault codes should be stored on the ECU. When you have a full scan please post it and I will try and help you.

Thanks Radders. I live near Great Yarmouth so if anyone lives in the Norfolk Area and are willing to help out with a VCDS then that would be brilliant!

Cheers,

James.

Search for VCDS owners map or just have a look through a few forum threads and you will find the map. Then just contact one of them via a PM and ask them to take a look for you.

There is a link in my signature below.

Hi Chaps,

Went to see Ed on Sunday. He kindly ran VCDS and we are investigating the issue. Briskoda is a brilliant site and i'm so glad i found it.

All the best for the new year!

James.
