Brake Calipers

Featured Replies

I would like to replace front an back brake caliper with green ones to add a bit more contrast to my (black) car...

Has someone already done that?

It s just an extetical thing and I don t want to compromise brake efficiency or have problem with high temperatures from brakes...

Thanks,

Sino

Why not just paint them with high temperature paint? Try here for ideas.

Most of the (VRS) mk2's had red calipers by the way.

I am considering painting them. I have a friend who does professional painting of cars, i ll ask him to paint when I put on summer wheels in march/april

I did it when I upgraded to the larger VRS brakes on mine.  The extra cost of the larger discs is about £40, but as I needed new pads and discs anyway add this to 30 quid less that I sold my existing calipers for (compared to what I paid for the VRS brakes), it cost me less than £70 to upgrade to a set up that had actually done less miles than my previous set.

I like the look especially now I've refurbed my wheels to anthracite (gunmetal grey).  You might just be able to make it out from my profile picture?  I would say though that the green paint is already a little tired just over a year on, given they were in very good nick from the donor car and I'm already contemplating a repaint myself...
